“I’ve been waiting for this record to come out for years, ever since I saw this band open for The Casket Lottery reunion show in San Diego. The album is exactly what I hoped it would be—an irreverent collection straddling the “post” of “post-hardcore.” Songs like “Enter Skramz Band” are what At The Drive-In probably would have sounded like if they hadn’t veered into a more commercial direction (no judgment, that shit was tight too). That clean edge dissipates at times to bring out some more chaotic and urgent Ten Grand-like shapes. Overall, this is one of the best new records I’ve heard in years. If this band breaks up instead of making new music, I will riot.” –Theresa W.

BIG SEIZURE
Have to spend
Have to save
Have to help them bend the books to place the past away
Make a call up
Fake an account
Anyone with a leg up got a heads up before the breakdown
Mother Nurture
Father Split
Take the cut
Make the split
Cutting you in two ain't the half of it
Take a pill
Take a class
Take a bite from the pile of trash
Have a sip
Have a laugh
Have it out under the overpass
Have a bunch
Have a blast
Have it out under the overpass Still have it out under the overpass
Still have it out
I walk out doors
“Hit the floor”
I walk out through doors
“Still hit my head with the floor”
Still hit my head with the floor
Search for the upshot out in the downpour
When I greet the Grand Malfunction
I'll shake upon the floor
And there may be a few things I might have to pay for
I Work In Doors
You take Mind
Or You Make Time!
what Are You paid for?
My Head get Bored
I Won't PlAy That!
It's Pay Back!
What Are you paid for?
There's often an upshot
It softens the downpour
"Hit my head with the floor"
You can bet the house on a potential upshot
Try to stay calm out in the torrential downpour
"Still hit my head with the floor"
When we finally seize the Grand Malfunction
We'll shake it on the floor
And there may be a few things we might have to pay for
Been following Somos for many years, feeling that they had an opus in them...well, here it is. Driving pop-punk sensibilities lend an upbeat tone in contrast to the grim lyrical proceedings, and they absolutely pull it off. Evocative music that's been on repeat for me all month long. RIP, Phil PaintedDogs
Fans of Polvo, take note! The excellent Kansas City band Abandoncy has the same fondness for corkscrewing riffs & melodies. It’s great! Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 28, 2022
